The daisy opens at dawn, closes at dusk, and returns to the light each morning. "Day's eye," from the Old English dæges ēage, named for its opening again with each new day.

We bloom at our own pace, through seasons of growth and rest. If you're in a season of darkness now, light will come again. Day's Eye is your reminder of that truth. You've overcome challenges before, and you will find your way back to blooming.

I created this piece because I needed the reminder myself.

We're told to grow constantly, bloom endlessly, be in perpetual spring. But that's not how nature works, and it's not how we work either. Flowers close. They rest. They go dormant. And then, when the time is right, they open again.

Bloom is for anyone who's been told they should be further along by now. For anyone who's weathered a season of darkness and is finding their way back. Resilience isn't about never falling, it's about rising again.

This piece is a promise you make to yourself: I have bloomed before. I will bloom again. Not on anyone else's timeline. On mine.
